(Below, is just a small sample of the Double Gates we have built for our many satisfied customers!)
We have successfully made many single gates 48" and even much wider! So, we will gladly attempt to satisfy any and all requests for extra wide gates. Some gates that are over 48" wide are very heavy and may require a Roller Wheel support.
You can be certain that any gate we agree to produce will be strong enough that it will not sag, function properly and satisfy your needs for many years to come (refer to our Product Line and Why Us? Pages for more info).
When deciding on a Double Gate design, one factor to consider is the sizes of the active and passive gate. Generally, equal size gates (split opening evenly in two) works well aesthetically (depending on individual tastes). However, sometimes your opening may not be large enough for equal size gates, so we can make the passive gate smaller than the active gate in these cases. For example, you may need the active gate opening to be 30" or more wider for functional purposes. Note that we deduct a total of 2" from your finished opening to allow for proper gate & hinge clearance.
We can also make a fixed panel to match your single gate that will nicely fill the opening gap. Since ALL of our gates are custom made to order, we are very flexible (and creative) in our designs relating to your requests!
We make gates to match Trex, TimberTech, Azek, Fiberon, Veranda and other composite materials, as well as in Cedar and Pressure treated wood. We also make gates with round and square metal/aluminum spindles (Trex & Deckorators Brands).
* Note: Double gates can often be shipped in one box, thereby offering significant savings!
2) Optional MagnaLatches:
MagnaLatches are perfect for the safety & security of small children. The magnetic system (combined with our self-closing hinges) ensures an automatically closed gate both secure and locked. There is also a key lock included that can optionally be used.
Many Swimming Pool applications will also require a MagnaLatch depending on your local Building Codes. Our gates and MagnaLatches can save lives; see our Pool Gates & Resources Pages for more detailed info!
