Gates are made of ALL #1 Grade Pressure treated wood (finest available). Spindles are cut from 2 X 4 stock (2 X 2 material is NOT used) and joined into 2 X 4 rails utilizing a precision dado joint. All edges are slightly rounded over. These gates are produced to the same demanding standards as all of our gates and are beautiful and strong; made to last!

Special Note: You can also stain our P.T. gates to match your specific deck/railing color using a solid stain. Staining will provide a long lasting maintenance free finish. Building a gate to match the Trex Transcend, Select and TimberTech rail/frame proved to be a daunting challenge! The spindle for the rail system is hollow which creates a lot of difficulty in attaching them to the rails in a manner that met our strict standards for strength and beauty. More than a year of research & development (including much trial & error) was required to produce a viable, strong, beautiful and acceptable gate!

The frame is actually made of Trex material. The top and bottom rails are shaped and cut (forming a mortise & tenon joint) to accept the spindles. Corners are mitered (45 degree angle) and a double biscuit joint along with a 2-part epoxy is used for strength. Everything is screwed together using high quality 3" colored screws. In addition, the frame is attached to the spindles using special high-tech screws that are countersunk (the hole is plugged with a matching color composite material plug.

After some research and development, we have come up with colors that perfectly match the Transcend & TimberTech color finishes! We also provide you with a small jar of touch-up paint; additional paint is available to perfectly match your specific gate.

Why buy an ordinary deck gate made of pressure treated or cedar wood, when you can get a custom handmade Trex*, TimberTech*, Fiberon* or Azek* material gate for a reasonable additional cost? After all, you have already invested thousands of dollars into your beautiful composite deck. This relatively small investment will payoff in years to come with a beautiful gate that will perfectly match your composite deck and/or railing (and give you all of the same benefits of your composite material deck)!

We have sold over 1,000 gates throughout the continental U.S. since our inception in June of 2, 2012! Our gate frames (only) are painted; the spindles are the actual identical spindles that you purchased for your deck railing! If you have concerns or questions about the painted Frames, please call us at 845-553-4283 and speak to Mike directly (before making your purchase decision)! There are very specific and important reasons for the paint process. Our gates are the strongest, most reliable, best looking and cost effective available. Our gates sell for at least $200 less (on average) than comparable ones sold online by our one competitor!

ALL of our gates feature our own exclusive design that results in a no sag beautiful looking gate. We have developed a unique, proprietary design that is built to last! Our gates are built to exacting craftsman standards employing professionally cut joints and steel reinforced corners. In addition, the corners are reinforced using biscuits and water-proof (two-part epoxy) glue.

Trex*, TimberTech/Azek*, Fiberon* and Veranda* gate frames are painted (see below for more info/details) that will maintain their finish; we use an oil-based primer and only Sherwin-Williams Duration paint (their best). ALL gate frames are made from composite material (no wood is used)! See the Notes at the bottom of the Order Form Page for more info.

Our patent-pending custom designs combine variations of dados, rabbets, mortise & tenons and perfect miter cuts (along with high quality state-of-the-art fasteners) resulting in a gate that not only looks great but will last for many many years to come!

Since we offer spindles/balusters made from the current composite product lines, your gate will blend in perfectly to match your particular railing and/or deck material.

For those of you that have a pressure treated or cedar deck/railing, we also offer gates made of #1 Grade pressure treated and clear cedar wood. These gates are made to the same exacting standards as our Trex* gates, but cost much less due to the cost of the material (and less time to produce). The fastener parts and the labor involved are of the same quality on all of our gates. Our prices for these Gates are actually quite reasonable because (as you probably know) composite material is very expensive.
